Hello stampers!

It's hard to believe it's mid-winter for the very warm weather we're having recently!  I know that's true for many of you as well, so let's enjoy it....because we know winter will be back with a vengeance!!!

Succulent Garden

Hello stampers!

When the Occasions Catalog first became available for demonstrators in December, I made a list of the products that really caught my eye.  That became my pre-order #1.  A few weeks later, I placed a second order that was delivered late last week.  As I went through the products in the second order, I fell in love!  The designer series paper (which I mostly passed on with my first order) is absolutely gorgeous!

I was especially drawn to the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper and thought it would make gorgeous cards all on it's own!  So, I made up four quick cards to share this beautiful paper with you.  These cards are intentionally "simple" to showcase the papers.  I made up a couple sets of these cards to send to some friends that love written correspondence (versus electronic).  Take a look!

Lucky Elephant

Hello stampers!

Greetings from freezing southwestern PA!  Holy cow is it ever cold!  DH and I went out on Saturday to run some errands and even though the temperature was a balmy 15 degrees, it was sunny with no wind.  Not bad at all for running from the car to the store and back.  Sunday morning we ran out for breakfast - the temperature was 12 and it was cloudy and very windy.  Bone-chilling, biting, stinging cold.  If I sound like I'm whining, I am....the last couple winters haven't been very cold - or I've forgotten about them.  That's definitely a possibility!

When the new Occasions catalog was first introduced to demonstrators, one of the stamp sets that caught my eye was Lucky Elephant.  Elephants are symbolic to many, but especially to the people from India-and many of my co-workers are from India.  So today's card was created with them in mind.

One thing with this card - I heat embossed on foil.  This was the first time I had tried that technique and there is a definite learning curve.  I had a "cloud" around my elephant...I wish I had taken a photo to share with you.  I was so disappointed but didn't want to start over, so I trimmed him out and adhered him to my Very Vanilla panel.  And, of course, the photo doesn't do justice to how pretty this card really is.
