Waves of the Ocean

On Tuesday, March 1, Stampin' Up! is releasing a new product collection, Waves of the Ocean.  And it's a good one!  I recently took some time to put this collection to the test.  I'm pretty happy with the results.  Here are the cards I made.

The card on the left uses all products in the collection.  The card on the right used the New Horizons Designer Series Paper.

My card base is Night of Navy cardstock followed by a layer of Designer Series Paper from the Waves of the Ocean 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper.  The wave is stamped in Coastal Cabana on a panel of Basic White card stock that has light shading in Pool Party added with a Blending Brush.  I framed it with a piece of Night of Navy foil from the Blue Foils 12" x 12" paper.  I stamped the greeting in Night of Navy ink and die cut the label with the Waves Dies.  The label was adhered with Mini Dimensionals.  Finally, I added Rhinestone Waves Jewels to the label and to the card front.

My second card starts with a Blackberry Bliss card base.  To that, I added a piece of Designer Series Paper from the New Horizons Designer Series Paper collection.  The paper I selected suggested a foggy bog to me.   I stamped the pelican image in Soft Suede on Basic White cardstock.  I blended the colors on the moorning with a Blender Pen and colored the pelican with Stampin' Blends.  The image was die cut with the Waves Dies.  Finally, I stamped the greeting in Blackberry Bliss.

Here is a look at what is included in this collection and a few Stampin' Up! produced samples.

Note:  the bundle (stamp set and dies) will be available in the new annual catalog.  The Waves of the Ocean Designer Series Paper, Blue Foils, and Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels are available WHILE SUPPLIES LAST or until May 2.  Don't miss out!  If you want to add any of these products to your stash, do so early.

Flowering Rain Boots

 Hi everyone!

During my Facebook Live on Thursday evening, I made 2 projects using the Flowering Rain Boots bundle.  This bundle screams "spring" to me, and I'm ready!  The 2 cards I made are shown below.

If you missed the Live and would like to catch the replay, it has been uploaded to YouTube.  You can access it here.

I created recipe cards for each of the projects.  They are print-able, as I know some of you like to print them off and save them.

Oceanfront

 Hello friends!

I pulled out the Oceanfront stamp set today to make a couple of cards to share with you today.  Each has been paired with a different stamp set .  Take a look.

Foe the card on the left, I stamped the sky in Balmy Blue, the water in Coastal Cabana, and Crumb Cake for the sandy shore line.  The grass and greeting were stamped in Mossy Meadow.  The birds are from On The Horizon and are stamped in Memento.  The greeting is from the Saleabration set, Special Moments. I added some of the Faux Sea Glass Shapes in the sand.  TIP:  Color the Faux Sea Glass Shapes with your Stampin' Blends!  I used my Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends marker on a few of the clear pieces.

For the card on the right, the sky was stamped in Balmy Blue, the water is Coastal Cabana and Pear Pizzazz.  The shore line is Crumb Cake and Old Olive.  The grass along the horizon and the deer are from Grassy Grove and are stamped in Memento.  The greeting is from Special Moments and it is also stamped in Memento.  I added a sprinkling of the Pebbles Enamel Shapes to the shore and grass on this card.

TIP!!!  A little tip I've found for stamping with the Oceanfront (and other scene building stamp sets):  after stamping a section - say the sky or the water, I take a Blender Pen and go over the stamped image.  Doing so blends the color on the stamped image and helps to maximize the watercolor affect.  Try it!  It's easy to do and makes a difference!

The supply list for my cards (including a printable version) is shown below.  Clicking any of the images will take you to my online store.  (Note:  the supplies for each card are divided by the Oceanfront stamp set photo).
