OnStage Swap Share - Day One

One of the great traditions at OnStage events is swapping.  Demonstrators "trade" cards or hand crafted items with one another.  There are "organized swaps", meaning an organizer has signed people up that agree to trade and each person makes an item according to the prescribed guidelines.  There are also "general swaps" where people trade spontaneously.  I made cards for an organized swap and also a general swap.  I received some beautiful projects in return.  Over the next several days, I will share some of them with you.  Today I'm sharing four cards with you.  Each of them is very well made and are among the favorites I received.

Aren't they great?  I hope you get some inspiration from these cards!

OnStage Wrap Up

Stampin' Up! holds a semi-annual convention type of get together.  In one location they hold a 3 day celebration filled with lots of stamping, gifts, and presentations.  Other select locations worldwide hold an action packed one day session.  Last week, the 3 day celebration was held in Orlando, Florida in celebration of Stampin' Up!'s 30th anniversary.  And for the first time since I began a demo in the summer of 2013, I was able to attend.

When we arrived in Orlando on Wednesday, we headed immediately to the registration area.  There we received this awesome box of goodies!

The box was filled with goodies including a new stamp set from the Occasions Catalog, a set of 3 notebooks, three pens, a reversible tote bag, a lanyard, a name badge and holder, and most important of all, our prize patrol number!

Over the next three days, Stampin' Up! spoiled us with wonderful gifts.  I got three more stamp sets from the new Occasions Catalog, plus a pack of beautiful gingham designer series paper!

We also got other gifts - a Stampin' Up! tool case and bag that folds up into itself.

On Thursday and Friday, our box lunches contained one of these cute little cards.

The reverse side of the cards were hand signed.

But, by far, my favorite part of the three days were the stamping presentations.  This one, to close out OnStage on Saturday was, for me, the highlight OnStage.  Shelli Gardner is a woman I greatly admire and every time I get to see her stamp, I learn a cool tip.  This time was no exception.

I hope you enjoyed my little recap of the OnStage events.  I would love for you to join my team so you can attend next time.  Be sure to keep an eye out for a fantastic joining opportunity starting in January.  I'll share more on that soon.

Meantime, if you would like to talk to me about the opportunity, please let me know.

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Stampin'!

Blizzard of Wishes

Hello stampers,

I know you are used to seeing a card from my sister in this spot.  I'm out of cards from her for now.  I know she's really busy, so I'm not sure when she will send more cards.  In addition, I think it's time for some changes, so please read to the end and let me know your thoughts.

In the meantime, the beautiful Snowflake Showcase suite of products are available beginning today.  These are only available for the month of November, or while supplies last.  I know you will want to add them to your collection, so don't delay!  I don't want you to miss out!

You'll remember I shared a couple of cards I made with these special products a few weeks ago.  If you missed that post, you can check it out here.

I have another card from the Snow is Glistening Stamp Set for you today.

The snow flakes are cut from the beautiful White Velvet Paper.  The big outside snowflake is white, but I colored the smaller snowflake in the middle in Pool Party.  I used my Aqua Painter to color the velvet paper.  You have to try it, it's a great technique!

Here's a closeup view of that smaller snowflake.  I topped off the snowflakes with one of the Snowflake Trinkets.  All of the products coordinate so nicely!

Below you will find a picture of each of the products in the Snowflake Showcase.  Below that is a list of the products, their product number, and the price.

For everyone that places an order in November of $50.00 or more, I will send you a package of the Snowflake Trinkets, while supplies last.  Should they sell out, I will replace it with another item of equal value.

Starting next week, you will be able to find my posts only on my Facebook business page, Stamp With Melanie.  If you don't already like and follow that page, I encourage you to do so.  I also plan to get my Instagram page up and running but it will take time to get everything the way I want.  So for now, please check me out on Facebook.  I'll be posting from OnStage (Stampin' Up!'s semi annual convention) in Orlando next week and I don't want you to miss a thing!  This is an experiment, so we'll see how it goes.  If you have feelings one way or the other, please let me know!

Thanks for stopping by, and happy stamping!!!

This Season

Hi there stampers,

Even though Halloween is tomorrow, many of us have started thinking about Christmas.  I pulled out the wonderful Winter Woods set to create this card for you today.

To create my card, I stamped the tree in Shaded Spruce on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  Then I dabbed Frost White Shimmer Paint on my tree.  The greeting is stamped in Crumb Cake and the tree is backed by a piece of  Champagne Foil.  The Designer Series Paper used for this card is from Under the Mistletoe.

To create this card yourself, here are the products you will need.  Click on any image to go to my online store to purchase.

Peaceful Place

Hi there stampers,

Are you like me and have many unfinished projects taking up space in your craft room?  I'm sure I'm not alone!  I've had this unfinished card front sitting on my desk for a couple of months.  I liked it, but wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it.

The unfinished card front was the stamped image from Peaceful Place heat embossed in copper.  So, I sponged the edges in Soft Suede and then very lightly colored the image with Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.  I wanted just a very light hint of color.  Next, I added a small banner with the greeting stamped in Soft Suede.  I adhered my card front on a piece of Early Espresso card stock that I embossed with the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Finally, I added a button tied with Linen Thread and 2 pieces of Joyous Noel Glimmer Paper punched with the Sprig Punch.

I hope you get a sense of peace when you view my card.
