Hi there crafty friends!

The July Paper Pumpkin kit arrived on my doorstep a few days before we left for our trip.  I had plans to toss it into my suitcase and take it along for a little crafting escape, but next thing I knew, all 9 full size cards were made!  Sometimes I have no will power!

Here's a look at the cards.  

Do these cards have a familiar feel?  They should!  They are designed to coordinate with products from the annual catalog.  From left to right, Woven Heirlooms,  Garden Lane , and Sailing Home.   How cool is that?

Pressed Petals Wedding Shower Gift Packaging

Yesterday I shared a card I made with the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper.  Today I'm sharing a gift bag using paper from that same pack.

I bought the bags themselves on clearance at Target a couple of weeks ago.  I think they were in packs of 8 for 90 cents.  They were such a good deal, I got 3 packs!  And they're cute, but I wanted to dress them up when I use the.  So, I cut a piece of designer series paper and adhered it to a piece of Old Olive card stock and glued both to the bag using Tombow.  I did this on both the front and back.

The little gift tag is Crumb Cake card stock punched out with the Delightful Tag Topper Punch and embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.  A piece of Washi Tape from the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape adorns the white cardstock bottom of the tag.  Above that I stamped "For the Bride" from the Special Celebrations stamp set and butterflies from Butterfly Wishes.

I finished off the ensemble by tying a piece of  3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim around the handle of the bag, and a piece of  3/16" Braided Linen Trim to tie the tag to the bag.

I hope you like my gift bag and tag and they inspire you to decorate your packaging!

Pressed Petals Card Idea

We will be leaving on vacation in the next couple of days, so for now, the blog is on auto pilot.  If you reach out to me with any questions while we're gone, my response to you may be delayed.  Be sure to stop in over to my Facebook page, Stamp With Melanie.  I hope to post some photos from our vacation there. 

The reason for this trip is a destination wedding for my nephew.  We recently had a shower for the bride-to-be.  Today I'm sharing with you the card I made for her shower gift.

The main image panel is from the Pressed Petals Specialty Designer Series Paper collection (this paper is gorgeous!).  I adhered that panel to a piece of Old Olive card stock embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder.  The sentiment is from the wonderful new stamp set "Here's A Card".  I stamped it in Rococo Rose on Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I added a piece of Scalloped Lace Time at the bottom of the sentiment.

My Favorite Stampin' Up! Tool

Almost a year ago Stampin' Up! introduced the Take Your Pick tool.  The catalog describes the tool as "Multipurpose pickup and precision tool simplifies meticulous tasks. Tacky putty end easily picks up sequins, paper accents, and other small objects; twist to dispense more putty. Other end has 2 changeable, double-ended tips with paper piercer, mini spatula, small stylus, and large stylus."  

In June, the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip was added to the tool lineup.  The combination of available tips and the addition of the Die Brush Tip mean this tool has become quite the handy helper and is always on my desk!

From releasing small pieces from dies to adding glue dots or embellishments, and scoring card fold lines, the tool has taken the place of several single tools, which leave me with a less cluttered work space!   Woohoo!  Major win!

Daisy Lane Friend

As a demonstrator, when I host workshops, I usually prepare a couple of each project kit "just in case".  Sometimes they are used, other times they are not needed.  I always intend to make up these kits, but sometimes that doesn't happen.  Over the years, I've accumulated quite a stack of these kits.  The past couple of months, as I'm in the process of majorly reducing the unused "stash" in my craft room, I've been using these kits for various cards.  I haven't shared them here when they use retired product, but I like this one so much, I have to share it with you.

The Baked Brown Sugar card stock is no longer available.  Neither is the designer series paper on this card.  But it would be so easy to recreate with current product.  And I love these colors together!
