Mother's Day is next week, so I thought it would be appropriate to share some recent Mother's Day cards with you this week here on the blog.
First up is this Ornate Garden Mother's Day card. And this card was created using scraps laying on my desk. Woohoo....even better...using up those scraps!
I used a larger piece of the Ornate Garden Specialty Designer Series Paper for the background. Then I used a another scrap from the same set and cut it in half to make the top and bottom border. I grabbed a scrap of gold foil and cut the two scalloped edges using the Ornate Borders Dies.
The sentiment for my card is from Strong and Beautiful. I cut it out using the Stitched Shaped Dies and bordered it with a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles Dies. A bow from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack and an Early Espresso border finish off the card.
I like this layout for using up larger and smaller scraps. And the layout works for both portrait and landscape orientations.
