Cup of Christmas

Hello stampers,

This fall Stampin' Up! released their first ever reversible stamp set!  Certain images in the stamp set can be stamped on either side of the stamp!  How cool is that?  Cup of Christmas is the stamp set with the reversible images.

For my card, I stamped one cup image in Old Olive and the cup outline stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  I cut out the images using the coordinating dies.  The background Designer Series Paper is from Night Before Christmas.  It is adhered to a piece of Gold Foil and a Night of Navy card stock base.  The accent under the mugs is a piece of Gold Foil and a piece of Gold 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon colored with the Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends marker.

Stampin' Up! produced a short video featuring this stamp set.

Let It Snow Snow Globe Card

Hi everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend!

Thanks to Jaydee at The Paper Players for choosing my Country Home Harvest Blessings card as her Cut Above in last week's challenge.  If you missed that card, you can see it here.

It's back to Christmas here on the blog today.  I'm sharing my first card using the Snow Globe Scenes Dies.   I kept is pretty basic so I could get comfortable working with these dies.

I used the Let It Snow Designer Series Paper to create my snow globe and card background.  The Snow Globe Shaker Dome has both Snowflake Sequins and Ice Stampin' Glitter inside.  The Shaker Domes have adhesive on both sides, which makes them really easy to work with.  The evergreen accents are from Mini Curvy Keepsakes Die Box.   The evergreens have Shimmery Crystal Effects added.

This bundle is really easy to work with and there is so much that can be done!  I'm really looking forward to my next card!

One caution, cards created with the Snow Globe Shaker Dome are too thick to be mailed as first class mail, so they will cost extra to send though the mail.

Painted Harvest Birthday

Hi there stampers,

The beautiful fall weather here has inspired me to pull out another seldom used stamp set off the shelf and ink it up with some fall colors.  The result is today's card.

I created the background by stamping the Birch background stamp in Crumb Cake ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  The flowers are stamped in Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie, and Crush Curry with Cajun Craze centers.  The leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow.  And the card stock behind the image panel is embossed with the Tin Tile 3D embossing folder.

Adding Texture With Embossing Folders

Hi everyone,

First, thanks for your interest in my "October Mega Workshop".  I've added all the details to my blog.  Click the link on the right side of the page to go there!

Using embossing folders to add texture to a card is nothing new.  We've had them in our toolbox for a while now.   Today I want to talk about some of the ways I use embossing folders in my projects.

The right edge of the card above  had texture added with an embossing folder.

In the above close up of a recent wedding card I made, I used a dauber to add shimmer paint to the flowers for even more interest.

For this card, the image panel was embossed after the stamping was complete.

And on these cards, I added ink to the embossing folders before adding the card stock and running through the die cut machine.

Finally,  take a look at the examples below.  Three pieces of Crumb Cake card stock embossed with the Tin Tile 3D embossing folder.  One piece of card stock has no ink added to the embossing folder, one piece shows the ink added to one side of the embossing folder, and the third shows ink added to the reverse side of the embossing folder.

It's pretty easy to see how the addition of ink really changes up the look of the embossed card stock.

Do you have a unique way to use embossing folders?  Share it below in the comments!
