Adding Texture With Embossing Folders

Hi everyone,

First, thanks for your interest in my "October Mega Workshop".  I've added all the details to my blog.  Click the link on the right side of the page to go there!

Using embossing folders to add texture to a card is nothing new.  We've had them in our toolbox for a while now.   Today I want to talk about some of the ways I use embossing folders in my projects.

The right edge of the card above  had texture added with an embossing folder.

In the above close up of a recent wedding card I made, I used a dauber to add shimmer paint to the flowers for even more interest.

For this card, the image panel was embossed after the stamping was complete.

And on these cards, I added ink to the embossing folders before adding the card stock and running through the die cut machine.

Finally,  take a look at the examples below.  Three pieces of Crumb Cake card stock embossed with the Tin Tile 3D embossing folder.  One piece of card stock has no ink added to the embossing folder, one piece shows the ink added to one side of the embossing folder, and the third shows ink added to the reverse side of the embossing folder.

It's pretty easy to see how the addition of ink really changes up the look of the embossed card stock.

Do you have a unique way to use embossing folders?  Share it below in the comments!
