The past couple of weeks, I have been so preoccupied with getting everything ready for my first craft show this weekend. I love doing craft shows, but they are a ton of work! Anyhow, Mr. Brown stopped here yesterday and brought my new order for the new Stampin' Blends! Woohoo! Suddenly, that craft fair was in second place. I had to try out the Blends!
First, I love coloring. And I especially love coloring with alcohol markers. I've used Copics and the original Stampin' Up! Blendabilities. I have to say, the new Blends did not disappoint! I loved coloring with them and how easily the color saturates the cardstock. I used the heavy weight Whisper White cardstock, which reduced the bleed through (that happens when using alcohol markers), for my stamped image.
Stampin' Blends come in two color families, a light and a dark shade of each color. I used light and dark Calypso Coral and the light and dark Old Olive on my card. I also used the Color Lifter to lift some of the color from the rose. I can't stress enough how important it is to have the Color Lifter. Not only does it save the day for the accidental coloring outside the lines, but it is invaluable in lifting color from within the colored image. I love the brighter looking rose I got after using the Color Lifter.
This is just a sneak peek of these wonderful new markers. As soon as we know when they will be available for customers, I'll share more of the markers and the new stamp set and card kit that work well with the Blends.
(By the way, did you recognize the Designer Series Paper panel as being from the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper and the black rhinestones from the Spooky Night collection? Stampin' Up! products coordinate so nicely!)
