Dashing Deer in Gold and Crumb Cake

Hi everyone,

A couple of weeks ago I was experimenting with some embossing paste and the new Basic Patterns Decorative Masks from the Holiday Catalog.  The result turned out to be one of my favorite cards I've made in a long time.  I hope you like it too.

My card base is Very Vanilla card stock.  To that I added a panel of Crumb Cake cardstock that has been embossed with the Shimmery White Embossing Paste that I tinted with 3 drops of the Golden Glitz Delicata Ink Refill.  I applied a thin layer of embossing paste to the Crumb Cake card stock using the mask.  Here's a closer look.

The background has just a hint of sparkle and looks beautiful in person.  It really doesn't show up very well in the photos.

Using the Layered Circle Dies, I cut out a scalloped circle in gold and a solid circle in Very Vanilla card stock.  I embossed the Very Vanilla circle using the Subtle 3D embossing folder that I inked with Crumb Cake ink.  I embossed the circle horizontally and vertically to create the linen look.

The deer is stamped in Golden Glitz Delicata Ink on Very Vanilla card stock and cut out with the coordinating die.  The deer is adhered to the circle using Dimensionals.

The sentiment is also stamped in Golden Glitz ink on Very Vanilla card stock and cut out with the Timeless Label punch.  The sentiment is backed with Gold Foil also cut out with the Timeless Label punch.
