It sure was a cold weekend around here!  Not really cold, but surely not typical mid May weather!  We even turned our furnace back on!  Spring can come back any time now!

Tin of Cards Class Reminder

Hi there stampers!

I hope you all had a great weekend!  Summer came to the St. Louis area this weekend.  It got hot outside here - temps in the 90's with heat indices in the 100's.  I love it!

The class on Saturday was good.  Two new stampers joined us, and a good time was had by all! 

If you are planning to participate in the Tin of Cards class on August 8, please let me know as soon as possible.  The kits are currently on back-order; I want to get our order in as early as possible so we will have them in time.  You purchase the kit and bring your own adhesive; I will supply the stamps, ink, and snacks!

I will accept RSVP's until July 31, but the later you sign up, the higher the chance that your kit will not be here by August 8 and you may have to put your kit together at a later date.

As a reminder, this is what we will be making:  16 cards - 4 of each design and the decorated dividers.  All store very nicely in the tin.  This is a great set to keep, or to give to someone special as a gift.

A Tin of Cards

Hi everyone!

What a beautiful day in St. Louis on Tuesday!  Bright sunshine, low humidity, and warm temperatures!  The best!  Work wasn't bad either.  

On August 8, I am hosting a class to make your own Tin of Cards (#138378).  This item is currently on back order, but is expected back in stock by mid July.  Today I am sharing a close up of each of the cards in the set (the kit comes with 4 of each style).  Tomorrow, we will look at the remaining items in the kit.  

Here are the 4 cards:

The kit shows the butterfly card as a thank you card, but I use so many birthday cards, I decided to stamp mine with Happy Birthday.

I think Stampin' Up! has really stepped it up with the kits in this year's catalog - and this one is a good example of that increased quality!

And now, on to today's card!  I went with a nautical card this time.  And I used three new stamp sets at the same time!!!

The base of this card uses the new Whisper White 100# Thicker Cardstock (#140272).  This stuff is scrumptious....give it a try!  I adhered a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock to the base and stamped the greeting (Tin of Cards).  The, I took a small piece of Whisper White Cardstock and stamped the Brushstrokes background stamp in Mint Macaron and adhered it to another piece of Whisper White cardstock, creating a small border.  The ship's wheel (From Land to Sea) is stamped twice in Tip Top Taupe.  I cut out both images with my paper snips and separated all levels with Dimensionals.
