Queen Bee and Free Project Tutorial Inside

It's been a hot minute since I created a post.  So to my wonderful blog readers, thank you for hanging with me!  I'm going to try to do better going forward!  (But if you don't already follow me on Facebook, please do so:  https://www.facebook.com/GetInkyWithMelanie)

If you are reading this post on Tuesday, February 28, we're on the very last day of Saleabration 2023, and you have only a few more hours to snatch up those freebies.  If you are reading this post on Wednesday or later, Saleabration is gone, so read on....

The Queen Bee bundle (#160485) from the January-April Mini Catalog is quickly becoming a customer favorite item.  It's easy to see why - the elements are perfect for creating gorgeous cards!  (The dies are currently out of stock, but are expected to be available again by mid March). I used that bundle for this birthday card.

If you would like to make this card yourself, a free tutorial is available by clicking the photo above.

Taco Fiesta

It's Taco Fiesta time for today's fun birthday card!  Taco Fiesta (160732) is a new stamp set available in the 'spring mini' catalog.  It is chock full of fun Mexican food images.  And since our family loves Mexican food, this set was a must have for me!  Here's a look at today's card:

To make my card, I started with a Real Red card base and added a layer of So Saffron card covered in chips stamped in Crumb Cake ink and colored with So Saffron Stampin Blends.  I stamped the guacamole image in Tuxedo Black on Basic White card stock and colored the image with Stampin' Blends.  On a scrap piece of So Saffron card stock I stamped and colored a single chip.  After cutting out the chip, I stamped the guacamole bowl at the bottom of the chip and snipped it away.  The remaining chip was layered onto the guacamole and secured with a drop of Tombow.  I die cut the oval Basic White cardstock oval and Real Red frame with Framed Florets dies.  Before adding to the card front, I added three strips of card stock across the middle.

The supply list for today's card is below.  Clicking any of the images will take you to my online store.

Seaside Bay Birthday

Happy New Year!

Tomorrow is a big day!  A new Stampin' Up! catalog goes live, Saleabration begins, a new kit will be launched, and a wonderful new join offer begins!  I'll be back tomorrow to talk about all of that.  Today, though, let's take a look at a card that uses several of the new products!

To make this card I started with a Sahara Sand card base.  I stamped images from Seaside Bay on the card base using Sahara Sand ink.  I layered Coastal Cabana card stock and a piece of By The Bay Designer Series Paper.  The greeting is from Friends Are Like Seashells.  I stamped it in Sahara Sand and die cut the greeting with the Stylish Shapes dies.  To complete the card, I added Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls to the card.

Sunny Days

Before I share my card today, I hope you caught my post on my Facebook page, Stamp With Melanie, earlier on Thursday.  Stampin Up! has reduced the prices on a number of retiring items.  The discounts range from 10%-30%.  Click here to go to my online store.  Then click  "Last-Chance Products" on the left.  Click the "Discounted" box to see the products remaining.

A member of my team celebrated a birthday earlier this week.  I found a cute little sign for her that said "Be a flamingo in a flock of pigeons" (or something like that).  In keeping with that general theme, I used some favorite stamp sets to make this card for her.

Hope you had a very happy birthday!

Best Catch Birthday

Friends,

If you did not see my post on my Facebook page, Stamp With Melanie yesterday, please look for it.  Stampin' Up! released several newsworthy product line announcements and I recapped them for you there.

I've been on a bit of a roll creating male birthday cards lately.  Today I'm sharing a card that uses the Best Catch stamp set and Catch of the Day Dies.  I've also used an element from the Under the Sea Dies.  In addition, the sentiment is from Birthday Cheer.  Crackle Paint was used for the background.  I stamped it in Crumb Cake on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock.

The Best Catch bundle is available at a 10% discount until the Occasions Catalog expires at the beginning of June, so if this set is on your list, order it before it's no longer on sale!  Because we all love to save money, right?!

I used the Stampin Blends to color the fish and the basket.  I sponged Old Olive on the cat tails and colored the ends with an Early Espresso marker.  Then I sponged Old Olive and Crumb Cake randomly across the net.  Using my bone folder, I "curled" the net going both ways to add dimension.  The background panel was embossed using the Subtle embossing folder.

I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso and used the Stitched Rectangle dies to cut it out.  I attached the fish with Dimensionals.

The supply list to create my card is shown below.
