Fall is in full swing around here, and so thoughts inevitably turn to Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plus, I love the Country Home stamp set, but haven't used it enough. So.....
I recently saw a technique on Dawn Griffith's blog, so I had to try it for myself. It wasn't hard, but the effect is a real Wow! I hope you'll give it a try.
Here's what I did to create my card. I took a blank piece of Glossy Card Stock and stamped my image on the card stock using the Shimmer Paint in Bright Copper.
I've tried a couple of different ways to apply the Shimmer Paints, but by far the easiest way is to use a clean dauber to pick up color out of the lid of the Shimmer Paints container. Then "daub" the paint onto the stamp.
Let the Shimmer Paints dry. I waited an hour. I know it doesn't take that long, but I wanted to extra sure the paint was dry. Plus, the panel looked really good just like that and I kind of had to talk myself into going on to the next step.
Using a sponge brayer, I covered the panel with Blueberry Bushel ink. After the entire panel was covered, I buffed lightly with a paper towel.
I mounted the background panel on a piece of Copper Foil. The greeting is stamped in Blueberry Bushel on Very Vanilla card stock. Then, I stamped the greeting a second time and snipped "thankful" and attached it with Dimensionals. I added a small strip of Copper Foil to the bottom of the flag.
