Very Vintage Gift Card Holder - The Inside

Yesterday I shared this new to me gift card holder I'm making for this spring's craft shows.  Here is another look at the outside.

Today, we're taking a closer look at the inside.  Seriously, this is the easiest gift card holder I've ever made!

This picture shows the inside with the gift card in the pocket.  The next photo shows a photo without the gift card.  And then I'll tell you how I made it.

Ok, so here's how to create this gift card holder.  It's probably harder to type it out than it is to make it!

Start with a piece of DSP or card stock 4-1/4 x 11.   Score at 3, 5-1/2, and 8 inches.

After folding along the score lines, add a length of Tear and Tape to adhere the two inside valley folds together.

Next, add the opening for the gift card.  I used the Classic Label Punch to create that opening.  It takes about 1-1/2 lengths of the Classic Label Punch to create the right sized opening.

After creating the opening, I added a length of ribbon to the outside of the gift card holder so it can be closed with a bow.  Add adhesive to the outside of the gift card holder and then place inside the card.
Finally, I added a piece of cardstock to the back panel of the gift card holder so a personal note can be added.

I added a thin velcro closure to the inside of the card to help keep it closed a little better.  I only recently saw them and I'm sold!  Look for them on Amazon.

I hope I explained this clearly  If not, feel free to reach out to me with your questions!

Very Vintage Gift Card Holder

I've been working on new products for craft fairs.  Some are updates to previous things I've displayed, others are completely new.  Today I'm sharing a new for me style of gift card holder.

I've used a 3-1/2 x 5" note card for the outside of my gift card holder.  I stamped the flower image in Highland Heather and the border in Crumb Cake.  The images are from Very Vintage, a hostess set.  The sentiment is from that same set and is embossed in White on a piece of Highland Heather card stock and cut out using a die from the Stitched Label Framelits.

Here's a quick look at the inside, but I'll talk more detail about the inside tomorrow.

The supply list to create the card front is shown below.

Very Vintage

Hello friends!

I used the Very Vintage and Bokeh Dots sets to create today's card.  It is really so out of my character.  Soft, feminine, and pretty.  Really not me at all.  But I love the look of this card.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

To make this project:

Merry Christmas

I know -- it seems so early to be talking Christmas, but have you been to the stores lately?  It's everywhere!  In fact, my local Hobby Lobby had Christmas decorations in store and on display by Memorial Day weekend!

I didn't get started that early!

Anyhow, this card came about from an experiment and some scraps laying on my desk.   There's a new (to me) product coming in the Holiday Catalog -- Shimmer Paint.  Shimmer Paint is offered in 4 shades/colors:  Bright Copper, Champagne Mist, Frost White, and Vegas Gold.  I was intrigued when I saw it and since I never used it, I  opened the bottle of Champagne Mist and the doily stamp from the Very Vintage host set and went to work.  I wish I had photographed the process, but I did not.  I'll make another card soon and take pictures while I work to show you.  But I used a sponge to apply the Glimmer Paint to the stamp and then stamped the cardstock.  When the Shimmer Paint dried, I was very happy with the result.  A couple of days later, I found the layers for this card laying on top of one another and had to make a card.  The key feature for this card is the images on the background layer.  I really like this affect and think it will be beautiful on those fall and Christmas cards!
