Seriously Amazing!

The summer weather we've been missing all summer is about to show up this week.  They are talking about heat indexes of 100+ degrees!  The pool water will be warmed up again in no time!

How cute is this!?!?!?

Hello friends!  

I had a post all ready for today.  And it's a super cute card.  But, it will have to wait for another day.  Because when the mail was delivered today, I got a great surprise!

My July My Paper Pumpkin kit was delivered!  Ooooo, I couldn't wait to peak inside!

Intriguing!  This would require a closer examination!

My Pinwheel Wreath

Hello!  Welcome to a new week! I'm looking forward to next weekend....I love July 4th!  It's always been one of my favorite holidays....summer, long weekend, fireworks, cookouts...yep, it's all good!

So, in the spirit of the coming holiday, my project today is the ever so popular pinwheel wreath!  

My wreath is made using some of the contents from the June My Paper Pumpkin kit.  The box was so jam-packed full of goodies this month, there were enough supplies for multiple projects!

Did you notice the straws from the MPP kit?  I saw this done on another wreath (sorry, I don't remember who, but thanks for the cute idea), so I tried it as well.  Here are a couple close ups:

I flattened the straws and curled them around a pencil.  Everything is adhered to the wreath with a hot glue gun.

It's Red, It's White, It's Blue!

Greetings friends!  I had a really good day at work yesterday.  The pressure of the last couple weeks is easing and we can all relax a little.  Thank goodness!  That's not to say that we're not still busy....

And the warm (hot) sunny weather continues as well.  My DH comes home from work and immediately jumps in the pool.  Not so for me.  I'm still thawing out from being in a very air conditioned office all day.

When I got home on Wednesday, a great surprise was waiting for me!

Woohoo! The June My Paper Pumpkin!!!  A pretty good day just got even better!  I had already had a sneak peak as to what was in the box and I couldn't wait to get at it!  So come on, let's get dinner and chores done so I can craft a little!

Here's what I found when I opened the box:

Enough supplies to make 24 patriotic pinwheels!  Included in the kit are straws for mounting the pinwheels as well as 24 little plastic bags that could hold a treat and be decorated with the pinwheels!  Let the fun begin!  I made up 4 for the 24 pinwheels to share with you here.

Have you heard the news?

Greetings!  

It seems more like fall than late spring around here!  It's been raining off and on (mostly on) since Monday night and been very cool.  It's not raining now, but yesterday afternoon we received 1.93 inches of rain in 3 hours.  About 5 miles from here, they got 5 inches!!!!  Yikes!  Nothing like a few short weeks until summer!  I know in no time the Missouri heat and humidity will return with a vengeance!  Meantime, the cooler weather veggies and fruits in my garden are thriving!

My Paper Pumpkin - May

Thanks to those of you who made it to my Open House on Friday.  I hope you're enjoying the new catalog and making your wish lists!  I was working on mine a little today.  It's so hard to narrow it down to what I have to have first!  LOL!

Anyhow, even though I knew it was on the way, I was so surprised when this month's My Paper Pumpkin kit was delivered on Saturday.  And when I tore into it, I was very happy with what I found!  Cards for guys!  Yippee!!!  The stamps are for Father's Day and Birthday and the kit makes 4 full size cards and two gift cards.  All come with envelopes.  Here they are:

What a cute gift item!

Every month when the new My Paper Pumpkin box arrives in my mailbox, I never know what fun little project will be inside.  Will it be cards?  A mini album?  Decorated gift bags?  It's always a surprise.  This month is no exception.  My little red box was delivered yesterday and when I saw the project, I couldn't wait to make it!
